When that occurs, the Pac 10 representative to the Rose Bowl will either play in the Rose Bowl (if also one of the 2 teams determined to play for the NC) or an alternative BCS Bowl game.
I wonder if Texas knows that also counts as a rose bowl win?
Hence, a BCS Bowl Game win for a Pac 10 team that didn't play in the Rose Bowl Game in a year such as explained above, would be would be equivalent to playing in, and winning, a Rose Bowl.
For the idiots that assume the same for teams that play in conferences with tie ins other than the Rose Bowl, maybe your school's team will be able to be Bowl eligible some time in the next few decades and you can learn first hand what the BCS rules regarding Bowl Game tie ins are.
